America's Stairway is a national story.
Produced over the course of five years, America’s Stairway was released in October 2025 to coincide with the 200 th anniversary of the opening of the Erie Canal. Countless hours of planning, researching, fundraising, filming, editing, and community organizing came together to share this iconic moment in our nation’s history. The 60-minute film is distributed to public television stations nationwide by American Public Television. Buffalo Toronto Public Media is the presenting station.
